Shameful lack of blogging recently.
Recent activity: work (work) WORK work ... work, slowly moving stuff up to Anne's, highly fun/successful engagement party on Saturday (60's spy theme), playing games on the computer. I finally also picked up a golf bag and a putter to complete my kit and have had a couple of opportunities so far to play at the City Core course beside Sky Dome. This coming Saturday, Anne and I are off to Newfoundland for 10 days of wonderful holidays! Can't wait... Sunday, July 13, 2003
We're wrapping up a fabulous weekend.
On Friday we went with Molly to the Corner House, a great restaurant on Davenport. It was the last day of the Summerlicious Restaurant Week, so we got a fixed price meal for $30 + drinks and tax. I inadvertently had an all-vegetarian meal, but it was nonetheless delicious. On Saturday we completed the cryptic crossword and then headed out. We picked up a great new Autoshare car that's replaced the junk machine that was around the corner from Anne's, and drove down to Kensington Market. Fuelled by a chicken patty each we shopped for 60's style disco clothes (feather boa and wig for Anne, tight shirt and tuxedo jacket for me) for our engagement party. Then we picked up cheese, bagles, and wonderful New York sirloin steaks at low, low prices, and went over to my house. There we loaded my (very heavy) filing cabinet into the car and drove back to Anne's place. After a great steak dinner we played computer games and Scrabble for the rest of the evening. Today we got up late, but after a slow start we got organized. We went back to my place and got my new golf clubs and ventured down to the City Core club, where we spent an (expensive!) hour on the driving range and then did a (short, not very impressive) 9 holes on their miniature par 3 course. It was pretty fun, and as it was my first time with the new clubs it was also a great relief: they do work for me, and though I've got immense amounts to learn about golf I found I can work with them, too. Next time we'll go somewhere with a par 4. Finally, after scurrying home for a quick cleanup we walked down to Paul and Kelly's. They were in town for the Elora Festival (Kelly helps manage it) and had the gang around for a great dinner of pork tenderloin with rice, beans and mushroom sauce. Fresh strawberries and angel food cake for dessert... Yum! Thursday, July 03, 2003
Looks like I'm going to be homeless... I put my place on the market last week and accepted an offer last night. The closing is August 29th, so the pressure's on to find another home or figure out a storage strategy for all my stuff! |
